I'm John,
nice to meet you.
My creative journey started at no age when I started drawing and painting. I'm a life long passionate artist.
Fearing low job security in pursuing a career in art, I studied Law at Queens University, Belfast before becoming a Solicitor in 2013. Although I enjoyed the problem spotting and solving aspects of law, I wanted to get stuck into something more creative.

In 2019, I took up graphic design having been inspired by a quote describing design as intelligence made visible. The rest is history.

How I got started in UX Design
After earning my diploma in Graphic Design through Shaw Academy, I delved into a new rabbit hole of design that focused on improving the user experience of a product.

Determined to learn more about UX, I enrolled in Interaction Design in 2020. I earned distinctions in 'Becoming a UX Designer from scratch' and 'How to create a UX portfolio'.
Experience
I have experience running user testing of applications and creating prototypes to UI specifications using Figma, Sketch, Invision and Adobe XD. I have also created user task flows, journey maps, communicating scenarios and end to end experiences. For user research, I have interviewed users, conducted usability testing, collated data through competitive analyses and created surveys with a view of understanding user needs and goals.
What I'm curious about
I'm very passionate about understanding the psychology of users, how products have an impact on users' behaviour and how they influence user habits. I love all things related to design and how it can ultimately be improved to the users' benefit.
